| Click Here for a few picks of our classes. Cuong Nhu Oriental Martial Arts is a style that encompasses both hard and soft styles of martial arts. Our classes at the Wolfpack dojo are formatted around the entire curriculum. This curriculum is extensive and offers the student a well rounded base that enables everyone to learn and practice any and all martial arts. The entire curriculum is flexible depending on your age and abilities. A strong teenager or person in their 20's would be expected to not only learn but perform 95% - 100% of the curriculum at a proficient level. Persons that find parts to be outside of their abilities will make adjustments or perhaps not be able to perform a part. For instance a 60 year old would not be expected to do all if any of the flying kicks. As a modification, that person would be tested on their ability to teach them. Our daily weekday classes consist of a warm up which encomposes stretching, crunches ( like a situp ), pushups, and basics. Our stretching is an evolving process, we are always looking to be on the cutting edge. We use Yoga principles throughout our warm up and our base stretch is based on the concept of Active Isolated Stretching. After warmup we go into our general routine of basics and Kata. Basics are practiced on the open floor and often the techinques are worked on the heavy bags and focus (hitting) mits. Every class ends with either Mat work or Sparring. | ||
